Bulk Data Entry In the small displacement NLSTAT solution that has difficulties converging, the “expert system” will try, among other remedies, activation of Line Search.

Parameter Values Description
LSNLEXP <YES, NO, AUTO>
YES
This will be done for all cases where Line Search is operational.
NO
The nonlinear expert system will not activate Line Search as an additional convergence remedy.
AUTO
This will be done for problem class where Line Search has been found to have the most benefit (generally, path-dependent problems).

  1. When Line Search is activated explicitly by MAXLS > 0 on the NLPARM card, it will be active (where applicable) irrespective of this parameter.
