Altair HyperMesh

New Features

ECAD Reader Support
HyperMesh 2025.1 now includes support for ECAD file formats. With this enhancement, you can import and work with a broader range of electronic design data.
Supported file extensions include:
  • *.pcbdoc
  • *.pdbb
  • *.tgz

Enhancements

Third-Party Library Support
HyperMesh 2025.1 integrates support for multiple third-party libraries:
CT 2022 SP9
CT 2022 SP9 adds support for NX 2406 and CREO 11.
CT 2024 SP3
CT 2024 SP3 adds support for 2024 3DXML, NX2412, CREO 11, CATIA V5 R34, and SolidWorks 2024.
Both CT 2022 SP9 and CT 2024 SP3 support Inventor 2025.
By default, HyperMesh utilizes the CT 2024 SP3 libraries. Those who prefer to use the older CT 2022 SP9 version can do so by defining UseLegacyCTReader = on. The UseLegacyCTReader setting applies to all CAD formats supported by the CT reader. The default value of the UseLegacyCTReader option is off. When the UseLegacyCTReader option is set to on, the CT reader built with the CT 2022 version is used. If you do not set the UseLegacyCTReader option, the default value will be used automatically.
A new option, EnableFeatureReading, is also introduced for use with CATIA V5 files in CT 2024 SP3. The default value of the EnableFeatureReading option is on. If you do not set the EnableFeatureReading option, the default value will be used automatically. When the EnableFeatureReading option is set to off, BREP reading will be used instead of feature reading for CATIA V5 files.

JT Reader Update
The JT Reader open libraries option has been updated to version 11.6.
The JT Reader export option now includes support for version 10.10.
XT B-rep geometry is now supported in JT file exports.
NX Native Reader Updates
Support for NX 2412 has been added to the native reader.
IFC Reader Updates
A new option, midline midsurface, has been introduced. The midline midsurface option applies exclusively to components with geometry defined as swept solids, not BREP. When enabled, you can use the midline midsurface option to import only the axis representation, a 2D planar cross-section and its extrusion path, without generating the full solid geometry.
The default setting of the midline midsurface option is off. When the midline midsurface option is set to on, no solid geometry will be generated for swept solid components.

Resolved Issues

  • HyperMesh 2025.1 has enhanced support for reading PLY systems using the new CATIA CPD file format, which was not working in previous releases.
  • An issue where CATIA V5 files containing composite details not being imported correctly has been resolved. This fix ensures more reliable handling of complex composite data across supported formats.
