      Tires are critical elements to modeling a vehicle’s interaction with a road, with some tire models better suited to specific simulation domains.

The tire model requires a finite element modeling file (.bdf) and other associated files. The AutoTire entity in MotionView provides a utility to generate the required mesh files from a CAD file. The tire can then be transferred to EDEM through MotionView-EDEM coupling interface. PM-FlexTire software is available as an Altair Partner product under the Altair Units licensing system.

FTire Modeling

FTire property files can be used in MotionView via the Tire entity. You need to browse the appropriate tire property file and road property file to enable the FTire interface with MotionSolve.

Attention: Altair MotionSolve supports the FTire interface v2024-4 and earlier versions. Future versions of MotionSolve will maintain the interface but cannot guarantee its compatibility.
