Merge Subsystems

A merge can be based on a subsystem or line. The Merge tool group has two options: Stitch and Merge SEA Subsystems.

To use the Stitch tool:
  1. From the Model ribbon, Merge tool group, click the Stitch tool.
    Figure 1.

  2. Select the source and target subsystems.
    Figure 2.

  3. From the guide bar, click to display the advanced options.
  4. Click Stitch to stitch or un-stitch adjacent and intersecting surfaces.
To use the Merge tool:
  1. From the Model ribbon, Merge tool group, click the Merge tool.
    Figure 3.

  2. From the guide bar, select Plate or Cavity (to merge).
    1. To merge a plate subsystem, use the guide bar to select a source subsystem and a target subsystem.
      Figure 4.

    2. Upon selection, click Merge.
Restriction: Only two subsystems of the same type can be merged at once. There is a known issue with merging subsystems that have been created from components.
    3. To merge a cavity subsystem, use the guide bar to select a source subsystem and a target subsystem.
      Figure 5.

    4. Upon selection, click Merge Space to merge the acoustic spaces.
Note: Only two acoustic subsystems with a common surface can be merged. If the acoustic spaces have a structural subsystem in between them, then it will not be merged.
