- Model Setup
  Create connections and apply loads, constraints, materials, and manufacturing controls to your model.
  - Connections
    Create and define connections such as fasteners, joints, connectors, spot welds, and contacts.
  - Boundary Conditions
    Apply loads and supports, displacements, accelerations, gravity, temperatures, and center of gravity.
    - Loads and Supports
      Use the Loads tools on the Structure ribbon to apply forces, pressures, torques, and supports to your model.
      - Forces
        A force is a type of load representing a directional push or pull acting on a part, causing it to deform or experience changes in velocity or direction. Use the Force tool on the Loads icon to apply a force.
      - Pressures
        A pressure is a distributed load defined as force per unit area, acting on every point on a selected face. Use the Apply Pressure tool on the Loads icon to apply perpendicular or tangential pressures.
      - Torques
        A torque is a twisting force. It is a type of load and can be applied either to a face or the center of a hole, in which case it acts on the interior face of the hole. Use the Apply Torque tool on the Loads icon to apply a torque.
      - Supports
        Supports are used to hold a part so it doesn't displace when loads are applied to it. Use the Apply Support tool on the Loads icon to apply a support.

        A load case is a set of loads and supports, displacements, accelerations, and temperatures that act on a model at one time.

        Set up and edit modal load cases.
        Solution Settings (SimSolid)
        Adjust solution settings to refine SimSolid Solutions.
        Load Cases Table
        The Load Cases table allows you to quickly review and assign loads to load cases. You can also create new load cases, edit loads, and import or export loads to a .csv file.
        Create and Configure Load Cases
        Use the Summary tab on the Load Cases table to assign loads to load cases.
        Import or Export Loads, Point Parts, or Coordinate Systems
        Use the Load Cases table to import and export loads to a .csv file.
        Sort and Filter Loads
        Use the filter icons on the Details tab in the Load Cases table to show only loads of a specific type.
        Review and Edit Loads
        Use the Details tab on the Load Cases table to review and edit loads.
    - Displacements
      Use the Disps tools on the Structure ribbon to apply enforced displacements and displacement constraints.
    - Accelerations
      Use the Accels tools on the Structure ribbon to apply g-Loads and angular velocity/acceleration.
  - Materials and Libraries
    Create materials, assign materials to parts, and organize them into libraries.
  - Concentrated Masses
    Use the Masses tool to create a concentrated mass either on a part or at a point in space.
  - Systems
    Use the Systems tool to create and apply user-defined coordinate systems to loads, supports, and displacements.
  - Manufacturing Controls
    Apply manufacturing constraints using shape controls and bead patterns.
  - Mesh Controls
    Use mesh controls to assign an element size to parts or faces.
  - Temperatures
    Use the Temperature tool to simulate the effects of temperature changes on your model.
  - Center of Gravity (COG)
    Use the Center of Gravity Constraint (COG) tool to apply, reposition, and set upper and lower bounds for a center of gravity constraint. COG constraints are used to limit the position of the center of gravity while running a topology optimization.
  - Gravity
    Use the Gravity tool to apply gravitational acceleration (G) and adjust its direction.
- Structural Analysis
  Set up and run a linear static analysis using the SimSolid or OptiStruct solver. You can also analyze normal modes and buckling modes.
- Structural Optimization
  Set up and run a topology, topography, or gauge optimization.
- Report
  Generate PPT or PDF reports from analysis results. The Report tools are available after you have run an analysis.
Motion
Set up and run a motion analysis, plot the results, and export the results.
Fluids
Prepare and run a computational fluid dynamics simulation.
Design Explorer
Evaluate designs by using geometric variables and applying a design-of-experiments (DOE) or optimization method. We recommend fully constraining your sketch when sketch variables are used in the design exploration.
Manufacture
Set up and run a basic porosity or thinning analysis.
Print 3D
Prepare and run an additive manufacturing simulation, and export a file for 3D printing.
Rendering
Adjust the materials and environment of objects in the scene to create a photorealistic image.

Review and Edit Loads

Use the Details tab on the Load Cases table to review and edit loads.


To	Do this
Rename a load or load case	Double-click the load or load case in the table to make the field editable.
Change the magnitude of a load	Double-click the magnitude in the table to make the field editable.
Delete a load	Right-click the load in the table and select Delete from the context menu. Load cases can only be deleted using the Model Browser.
Sort a column	Click the column header. Click repeatedly to toggle between ascending and descending order.
Show or hide columns	Right-click on a column header and select which columns to show from the context menu.
Reorder columns	Click and drag a column header to reorder the columns.
Insert rows	Right-click a row in the table to open the context menu, and select Insert Row Above or Insert Row Below.
Select all table data	Click the icon in the upper left corner of the table.
