Use the Hotspot Finder tool to find critical regions of your model based on a plotted
result, filter the entities based on selection set, threshold values, minimum separation,
and load cases.
Modify and calculate hotspots for different result parameters. You can discuss the
hotspots with the shared members to analyze the model results.
Open a model file and expand the 3D viewer.
Click Show/Hide Browser .

Figure 3. Hotspots The Hotspots and the Result Browser panes
are displayed.Figure 4. Hotspot pane and Result Browser
In the Result Browser select the required simulation
result, Run, Loadcase, and
Result Type to calculate hotspots,.
Figure 5. Select Simulation Result
Click Calculate in the hotspots pane.
The Calculate Hotspots window displays the chosen
Result Details.Figure 6. Selected Result for Finding Hotspots
Enter a Name for the hotspot.
The Result Details displays, the active contour selected in the
Result Browser.
Define Parameters to calculate hotspots for the selected result
details.
Result Value Filter is a predefined filter for calculating
hotspots on the selected contour.
Threshold is a contour value to calculate hotspots.
Hotspot Separation is the distance or tolerance between the
hotspots.
Number of Hotspots is the top number of hotspots to be
calculated at the specified position of a model.
Click Run to calculate hotspots for the selected results and the
specified parameters.
A list of model parts with the hotspot value is displayed in the browser
pane and on the model.Figure 7. Hotspots
Use the arrow keys to view the hotspot values occurred on each
part.
