Altair Multiscale Designer 2025.1 Release Notes
New Features
One of the major targets of Release 2025.1 is adding all relevant features, which
were supported in version 2024.0 and were not yet supported in the new Multiscale
Designer GUI. These features are:
- Review of the full elastic homogenization results
- Within the linear forward homogenization a third tab is added, which
shows the full results in tension in compression of homogenization, as
it was available in version 2024.0.

- Support of core material class
- Foam and Honeycomb unitcells are supported as core material classes.

- Diffusivity and Thermal conductivity
- Homogenization supports, as in version 2024.0, diffusivity and thermal conductivity.
Enhancements
- General inverse characterization
- A general inverse characterization procedure, which allows the definition of any parameter of the multiscale material model as design variable, to fit any elastic and inelastic test result is added. That method enables the user to develop their own inverse characterization approach, fitting to the characteristics of the material of interest.
Resolved Issues
- In some cases, the Structural Simulation Tasks were not visible in the navigation panel. This is now fixed.
- Update of optimized material parameters in the database did not handle the internal constraints correctly.
