NFX-T: 1052 Water Management CX-1 Windshield

Tutorial Level: Beginner Set up simple single-phase water management case SimLab for CFD-nanoFluidX solution. The amount and distribution of water on the windshield will be analyzed and velocity, and forces will be computed.

The subject of this tutorial is to provide a basic model setup for water management simulation using SimLab for CFD - nanoFluidX solution. The operations presented are universally applicable across a large variety of water management cases. The model is referred to as CX-1 Windshield.

A shower is created and positioned above the windshield, and water is poured at a specific flow rate.
Figure 1.
Model Description
  • The dimensions of the case are: 1.9 x 1.6 x 1.3 m. It is discretized by 0.003 m resolution.
  • Domain is created.
  • Extractor is defined.
  • Particles are generated.
In this lesson you will learn how to:
  • Import SimLab Database (*.slb)
  • Define SPH flow solution
  • Check material properties
  • Position shower
  • Define domain
  • Set gravity vector
  • Define inlet
  • Define extractor
  • Create SPH particles
  • Set solver settings
  • Set result request
  • Save SimLab database (*.slb)
  • Run a data check
  • Run the simulation
  • Review results
Note: A PDF version of this tutorial is available in the Model Files section.
