Learn the basics and discover the workspace.
- User Interface
  Explore the user interface.
- Adjust the View
  View controls enable you to control the view and display of your model in the modeling window.
  - Rotate, Pan, Zoom, Fit, Center
    Adjust your view of the model in the modeling window.
  - Show, Hide, and Isolate Entities
    Turn the display of entities on and off in the modeling window.
  - Lock/Unlock the View
    Use view locks to change the scope of display operations, such as show/hide and reverse, from global to local.

      The Nearby function finds entities that are near the selected entities, within a specified distance that can be modified in the Radius or Edge length field, depending on whether the search method is Sphere or Box, respectively.
    - Shared By Function
      The Shared by function finds entities that are shared by two or more selected entities.

  - Change Element and Handle Display Settings
    Change the visual display of elements and handles in the modeling window by configuring the element and handle display settings.
  - Change Color Settings
    Change how entities are colored in the modeling window by selecting a color mode.
  - Create and View Section Cuts
    Use the Section Cuts tool to cut planar or spherical sections through a model.
  - Change Deformation Scaling Value
    Change the deformation scaling value in HyperView.
  - Animate Models
    View your model in motion using animation controls.
- Find and Search for Tools
  Quickly find and open the tools and browsers that are available from the ribbons, as well as create entities and solver cards.
- Selection
  Select and deselect entities to modify with other tools. Selected entities are outlined to indicate their selection state.
- Snaps
  Use snap points to help align geometry.
- Move
  Translate, rotate, and align the model.
- Define Orientation
  Several tools require you to define a plane or a vector direction to perform a certain function, such as dragging geometry along a vector, spinning it about an axis, or splitting it with a plane. The Plane and Vector tools are used to define and edit planes and directions.

  Use the Measure tool to measure length, angles, radii, areas, volumes, centers of gravity, and bounding boxes.

Browsers provide a structured view of model data, which you can use to review, modify, create, and manage the contents of a model. In addition to visualization, browsers offer features like search, filtering, and sorting, which enhance your ability to navigate and interact with the model data.

FE Geometry
FE geometry is topology on top of mesh, meaning CAD and mesh exist as a single entity. The purpose of FE geometry is to add vertices, edges, surfaces, and solids on FE models which have no CAD geometry.

Options

Action: Choose between the action of showing or isolating the entities that are found.
Show IDs: Enable to show the IDs of the found entities. Disable to clear IDs.
Highlight found entities: When the action is set to Show, this option highlights the found entities.
Note: Only applicable when Attached to is selected.
Save input selection to mark: Save the input selection to mark along with the found entities.
Include tied contact: Include tied contacts when checking for tied connectivity.
Note: Only available in the Abaqus, LS-DYNA, OptiStruct, PAM-CRASH, and Radioss profiles.
Check projection: Check for tied projection.
