View and Identify Surrogate Data
Data for a given material can come from various sources. For complete traceability it is necessary to identify the source for each data. In AMDC labels allow you to view and clearly identify the source of the data.
-
Manufacturer/Producer: This data comes directly from the material producer and remains unaltered. If not specified otherwise, all material data is provided by the producer and is not labeled.
-
Generic: Generic materials, identical to trade products, can often be used to fill in the gaps in the data. In these cases, the borrowed data from a generic material is labeled as Generic.
-
Artificial Intelligence (AI): Artificial intelligence can often predict missing data for a material. Data predicted by AI/ML algorithms is clearly labeled as AI.
Identifying data used to fill in the gaps
- A label clearly identifies the source. In this example the label
Generic
indicates that the property
Density
of melt has been borrowed from a generic material.

- For curves, the source of the data is indicated in the label. In this
example,
23°C
AI indicates that this curve has been predicted by AI.
