Materials Intelligence
Materials sometimes have gaps in the data, making them difficult to use in simulations. Materials Intelligence is an powerful tool that fills these gaps in the data using various methods such as borrowing data from generic materials or predicting missing values using Artificial Intelligence (AI). This enables previously unusable materials for certain CAE applications and makes the same material suitable for different disciplines, supporting multiphysics simulations. Material Intelligence settings can be configured globally for all materials in the database or locally when viewing an individual material.
View and Identify Source of the Data
Data for a given material can come from various sources. For complete traceability it is necessary to identify the source for each data. In AMDC labels allow you to view and clearly identify the source of the data.
Generic Data
Generic materials, identical to trade products, can often be used to fill in the gaps in the data. In these cases, the borrowed data from a generic material is labeled as Generic.

- Launch AMDC
  Altair Material Data Center is a web-based tool accessible through all leading browsers. Launch the application to access the Altair material data. You can customize and launch the application from Favorite Apps, on the Altair One Home page.
- AMDC Licenses
  AMDC provides license types such as Guest User, Viewer, Explorer, and ExplorerPlus. These are supported by Named User Licenses and Altair Units-based License models.

  - View Material Information
    View information such as material name, quality, type, provider, version, chemical composition of a material, material test information, and detailed material properties.
  - View Material Properties
    The material properties data such as Fatigue Properties, Mechanical Properties is displayed. The tested data for these properties is also displayed as supplied by the provider.
  - Materials Intelligence

    - Fill Gaps in Material Data
      AMDC offers a seamlessly integrated tool that can fill gaps in the data on demand.
    - View and Identify Source of the Data

      - Manufacturer / Producer
        The material producer supplies this data directly, and the system keeps it unaltered. It represents the verified dataset from the producer and appears without a label.
      - Generic Data
        Generic materials, identical to trade products, can often be used to fill in the gaps in the data. In these cases, the borrowed data from a generic material is labeled as Generic.
      - Artificial Intelligence
        Data predicted by AI/Machine Learning (ML) algorithms. The system clearly labels this predicated data as AI.
      - Empirical Formulae
        The system calculates this data using empirical formulae. These values are derived rather than measured or provided by a producer. The system clearly labels this predicted data as Computed.
      - Fitting Tools
        Material data generated or fit using Altair Material Modeler or other fitting tools. It is not raw producer data but a processed output based on fitting techniques. The system clearly labels this predicted data as Fitted Data.
      - Raw Test Data
        This data comes directly from test machines in its raw, unprocessed form. It has not been modified, averaged, or fitted. The system clearly labels this data as Test Data.
      - User Defined
        This data includes default values entered manually by users to fill gaps in missing or incomplete datasets. The system clearly labels this data as User.
  - View Plots
    Many materials have multi point data associated with them (For example, stress-strain data or PVT data for molding applications). Such data can be viewed as a plots in AMDC.
  - View Group Materials
    Materials with identical names but differing properties due to composition variations are grouped and displayed. The (number) represents the total count of materials grouped together.
  - Global Warming Potential
    The environmental impact of a material is indicated in its carbon footprint and Global Warming Potential (GWP).
- Export Material Data
  Export material data sheets with plots as a PDF and CAE simulation-ready material cards to your workstation or Altair Drive.
- Share Material Data
  Share material information in an email, document or message. Recipients of the link can view the material information in AMDC.

- AMDC Air Gap On-Prem Installation
  An Air Gap AMDC On-Prem Installation is a self-contained solution that can be deployed within a customer's network and does not need connection to the internet or external networks. The installer includes all necessary packages, dependencies, and required for an on-premise licensing and authentication, ensuring zero external network links.
