Radioss Interface

New Features

Radioss 2025 Solver Profile
A new Radioss 2025 solver profile has been added.
New Sets Support: /SET/GENERAL
All legacy set types have been removed (/GR…, /SURF/..., and so on).
Automatic conversion has been added for legacy sets to /SET/GENERAL during the model import process.
The "Compact Set" context menu option has been added to automatically reduce the set of sets definition into a single set with multiple entity selections.
A new GUI is available for the management of sets definition.
Automatic Sets Update
You can now update automatic sets upon mesh modification. This feature is activated via the Sets preference under Preferences > Topology > Mesh Sync.
Safety Tools
A new Seatbelt Deformer workflow has been added. See the Safety Tools release notes for more information.

Enhancements

Safety Tools
See the Safety Tools release notes for more information.
Airbag Folding Workflows
Updated workflows and new simulation technology are available for a drastic global airbag folding process time reduction.
New Supported Keywords
The following keywords are now supported: /ALE/GRID/FLOW-TRACKING, /CHECK/RFILE/OFF, /DAMP/VREL, /H3D/BEAM/..., /H3D/ELEM/VECT/ACC, /IMPL/MUMPS/OUTCORE, /SENS/RESET, /SENSOR/NIC_NIJ, and /TH/SENSOR.
Updated Keywords
The following keywords have been updated: /ANIM/DT, /DEF/SHELL, /FAIL/JOHNSON, /FAIL/SYAZWAN, /FAIL/TAB2, /H3D/DT, /MAT/LAW90, /PROP/TYPE1, /PROP/TYPE6, /PROP/TYPE9, /PROP/TYPE10, /PROP/TYPE18, /PROP/TYPE34, and /SENSOR/ENERGY.
Orientation Review Tool
In the Orientation Tab, the display normals and reverse normals features are now available for hexa solid elements. These features are relevant for checking and correcting the orientation of thick shells or cohesive solid element types.
1D Elements Orientation Node Update
A new "Update Orientation" context menu option has been added on the Node_id3 attribute for 3-node springs and beam elements. This feature activates a tool to define a new direction vector and automatically update Node3 coordinates or create a new node. This feature works for a selection of multiple elements.
Penetration Check Tool
The Penetration Check tool logic has been enhanced for /INTER/TYPE19 to match solver behavior.
The Penetration Check tool logic has been enhanced for checking contacts with SPH elements.
The Penetration Check tool logic has been enhanced for checking nodal penetrations on nodes common to multiple parts. The "Recheck shared nodes between parts" option has been removed.
/INTER/TYPE25 is now supported in the Penetration Check tool.
Find Attached Tool
Finding elements attached to solver masses, and vice versa, is now possible.
Model Checker
A new "Show in Browser" context menu option has been added on all checks. You can use this option to automatically list failed entities in their respective browser view for further actions.
Review of free nodes from the "RBODY has free secondary nodes" check is now possible.
The "Small rigid body with non-spherical inertia" Model Checker check has been removed because it is not valid for the current solver behavior. This check also had a significant impact on Model Checker performances.

Deprecated Features

  • The following solver profiles have been removed: Radioss 2017, Radioss 2018, Radioss 2019, and Radioss 2020.
  • All legacy set types have been removed (/GR…, /SURF/..., and so on).

Resolved Issues

  • Beam Node3 is no longer created on export when not defined in the beam element. The issue was fixed in version 2023.1 for all existing solver profiles except Radioss.
  • The .inc file format is now listed as an available format when importing a solver deck.
  • A segmentation error has been fixed that previously occurred when deleting a /PRELOAD load and then deleting the cross-section previously referenced in the load.
  • Selection of curve and definition of scale factors is corrected in /TABLE/1.
